The Converse of Christmas in July

The Converse of Christmas in July

This is my response to a half square triangle challenge issued by my local quilt guild. I found this poinsettia pattern on the way to MSQC's Christmas in July retreat, and thought it would be the perfect thing to establish a yuletide attitude. When the challenge was issued, I knew immediately that I wanted to adapt this pattern. The original pattern uses a 2" fusible grid with mostly squares. The HSTs are only used where the bracts overlap. I modified the pattern by changing all the squares to HSTs and reducing them to finish to 1" since part of the challenge is a size restriction on the finished piece. I am really pleased with the way this is coming together, and I couldn't wait to share it.
