Butterflies for Emily

My daughter LOVES butterflies, and pink and purple. We painted her room lilac last year, but her bed needed a refresh and a special quilt. I wanted to make a quilt that had butterflies, but wasn't too little girl. She is almost 9 and I wanted it to be a quilt that she could use and love for years to come. I found a fabric line that had all of those requirements. Lots of pink and purple, beautiful butterflies and could grow with her into her teen years. I chose simple 8 inch blocks with a small border and then a larger one. All the fabric is from the same line except the binding. I used a bias cut batik print for the binding because I liked it better than the one I originally chose. I used the left over fabric to make some pillow cases and shams. She now delights in her butterfly bed.
