For my folks
My parents have birthdays only 4 days apart and I decided last minute to make them a thin quilt to brighten their bedroom. I stole the pattern from a charity that I make quilts for.
This pattern is a simple one and could be done with any size square. I used 7" squares, 7"x3.5" strips, and 3.5" squares.
I sewed a strip to one side of the big square and sewed a little square to the end of another strip, then stitched the two halves together. The key to this block is how the quilt is laid out. It must be staggered in a particular way. See the diagram below.
