Canyon Jane's Ladder
Ever have one of those quilts that you're sure you're going to love, and then you just "kinda like" the result? That's this one for me.
I've had this Canyon layer cake and charm pack forever, waiting until I found the perfect pattern and background fabric for it. I finally settled on this pattern from the Moda site, and a gray on white wave for the background. My sister and I went to her cabin to quilt for a weekend recently, and it seemed like the perfect time to finally tackle this quilt!
It doesn't pop as much as I envisioned, but I do like the bright, spring-y feel of it. I also really like how the quilting turned out, and the movement it adds. The back is pieced with some Canyon yardage I scrounged up, and a dark gray I had originally bought for the background before deciding I didn't like it.
See the upper left corner where I screwed the pattern all up?....DOH. Rookie mistake! I must have done it when I was rearranging blocks to spread out colors. I didn't notice until I had it all basted and ready to quilt, and I just wasn't going to unbaste and pick that many seams at that point.
