Pink and gray star quilt

I used fabric from my stash and a side kick ruler for this quilt. I experimented with triangles and diamond shapes. One of my favorite parts of quilting is designing the project. I design as I go using a design wall. There are a lot of y seams in this piece, I learned it is important to back stitch the partial seam so is does not separate when quilting. I also learned that heavy quilting covers a multitude of piecing imperfections........

My husband was the ROTC Commander and this is one of his cadet’s. That got married and now they are having they’re first baby. He is a pilot and she is a second grade teacher. I tried to combine both professions. I also sent the dr. Seuss book, oh the places you will go since they are in the military, they will move a lot. This pattern came out of the baby block book vol 5 issue 1 2018.

Sydney's Blue Quilt

Sydney is my oldest grandchild ... she will 10 years old this summer ... and I made Syd a quilt years ago ...
