QuiltsBy.me

These are quilts that I have made over the years for various family members. All in a process of learning my way in the quilting world ! I have been quilting many things for many years and don't know how much longer I will be able to continue due to my advancing arthritis so I do as much as I can to leave a legacy for my children and children's children. I have enjoyed every minute I've spent doing these quilts.....Enjoymore of the past

More older quilts for you to enjoy

This quilt was done because an elderly lady wanted her mothers flower appliques added to one so she could have a finished product and record of her mothers handiwork. I simply provided a background, quilting and appliqueing here work on to it.

Rag Quilt

This is my first Rag Quilt. Didn't like the way it was coming out until after I washed and dried it to fluff it up. Wished I had made the fringed area in the opposite side so the baby could lay on the soft Fleece side instead. Fun quilt to do and doesn't need quilting when your done. A little bulky on the seams using the Fleece, but worked out well.

Flower Basket quilt

I was taught by a friend to quilt and wanted my first one to be given to my young daughter for her Birthday. It was completed in 1980 and she still had it until just recently when all her belongings were lost. However we do still have a picture of it!

TO MY GRANDDAUGHTER

This quilt was made with lots of love for my little "Precious Moment", Autumn Rose...my granddaughter. Hopefully she'll have and cherish for many years to come. I'm a beginner quilter. Ever since I started watching Jenny's (Missouri Star Quilt Co.) tutorials, quilting has been a wonderful experience. Loving pinwheels, I watched her Fast & Easy Pinwheels tutorial and decided to make a pinwheel quilt for my granddaughter. I added a border of tumblers. Quilted by Sandi's Quilted Touch.

The Koi Quilt

I made this quilt for my daughter and husband. They love koi fish and when I was visiting them, they took me to a park in San Francisco where I was able to take some pictures of koi swimming in a pond. The fish were printed from my photos on white linen. I added some fabrics and then painted them with fabric paints and appliqued them onto the background "water" fabric. I decided to enhanced them with thread. I added the large waves and borders. It was quite the project and I was pleased with the result...and they loved it!

Stroller Quilt

This stroller quilt was a baby shower gift. They have cold winters where she lives so I opted to back it in polar fleece. This also makes it easy to clean and quick drying to hold up to a baby/toddler's messes. :) This stroller quilt is about 28" x 35". Little ties on the sides help keep it secured to the stroller. I used a free pattern on Moda's website. Search for "Moda Sophie Car Seat Quilt" and you should be able to find it. I used the Disappearing Nine Patch quilt pattern for the top.

This is a queen quilt made up of half-square triangles with sashing and cornerstones. I made it for my goddaughter who is marrying this month of February. The pattern is from Fons and Porter for a project that works really well with large-scale prints.
