    Made this Lone star quilt top in 2014. The top is still not finished.It is an eclectic mix, the fabric with the measure tape is a sweet memory of a business trip to Uppsala where I was so happy to find a lovely fabric store, background is from a large Swedish Furniture house with 4 letters (guess what?) and the other bits are dapper fabric purchased the dutch fabric market, the Riley Blake in the centre was a find in Michelstadt. It was my first attempt at inset seams and loads of pieces on bias even though I used the lone star strip method I saw on the internet. The center seams are currently open and are awaiting a re-sew with more accuracy so that the bulk is and the slight hill is avoided....

    A small group of us at work raise money year round to support the Santa Shop at Fort Carson Army base in Colorado. The Santa shop is open to Army families that can't afford to buy Christmas toys/gifts for their children. This Valentines Day we will raffle this quilt in addition to our usual Bake Sale and rose/candy sales. We always raise a nice amount of money with this event....the guys are usually really happy to do their shopping at work :)

    These little bags are fun to create and can be made with just 2 Fat Quarters. I'm still building my sewing confidence! Great to hold jewelry or a small ball of yarn when you're sitting in a waiting room and want to keep busy. I think the little pockets on the outside are darling. I've given several as gifts and each recipient was tickled to get one. I especially like the color play of the peek-a-boo lining. (Feb 2016)
