1neil's likes Sunni's Family Quilt This is the first quilt of any size that I made - for my sister for a Christmas present. She lives far from me, my children and grandchildren. I made the 9-patches from fabrics I had used in various projects for the kids and grandkids, and gave Sunni a schematic for what fabric was previously used for what project. I was hoping to make her feel a little closer to us. This quilt is also the first one I quilted on my long-arm. These are perfect quilts for a new baby, a thank you, or a sick friend. They are just so cheery. By Audioadi 44 LIKES | 2207 VIEWS Saying Thank-you I had to get my car fixed and my friend picked me up at the garage. I wanted to say thank-you for going the extra mile. I made the large mug rugs (3) for her mother who is living with her. & I made the smaller mug rugs for her morning tea. By Babs 11 LIKES | 1025 VIEWS First Dream I watched the MSQC 2010 YouTube video on this disappearing 9 patch pattern and knew I wanted to make it! It finished at 41 x 47 1/2 inches using one charm pack and just a little yardage. I love the bright fun colors. Then I watched Jenny's tutorial for Broken Dishes and loved it. I chose not to use any sashings. By estelle71 30 LIKES | 1501 VIEWS "I Like..." This is the quilt I made for my 4 year old granddaughter. Each of the zig zag strips is done in a print representing things she liked at the time: dogs, bugs, dinosaurs, robots, ice cream, lemons (for lemonade), etc. By willowynd 7 LIKES | 1050 VIEWS Teresa's quilt This is a gift for a friend of my youngest daughter, who recently married. By Shasta 7 LIKES | 1498 VIEWS Navy Hexies This is the very first experience I ever had with quilting. A very crafty and patient friend walked me through how to use a rotary cutter, how to sandwich each hexagon and how to hand sew sew one, then sew them all together. It is still a work in progress, started as a pillow top, then to baby quilt and now on the way to becoming single bed quilt. By EileenK28 20 LIKES | 1538 VIEWS Disappearing 4 Patch I just finished this quilt for my daughter-in-law who loves summer and the beach. I chose a large pattern to show off the Moda Sanibel fabric. I followed the Disappearing 4 Patch tutorial from MSQC and did a twist on that. I snowballed some of the corners to give the illusion of butterflies. I also chose some complementary fabric to go with the collection. I love the blueberry fabric for the large border and the bright polka dot fabric - like watermelon - for the small border and binding. The back has the Sanibel Adirondack blue chairs on it. I love the challenge of matching the fabric on the back where the seam is. I had it quilted by a local long arm quilter to give the illusion of ocean waves on the quilt.
