EllenB's likes Advent Calendar 2017 This was a kit from Missouri Star. Fairly easy to do....I had wanted to try something from a kit. I think my Grandkids will enjoy it. The little pockets are tough to see in the picture. I added the tabs for hanging. Lots of piecing, but well worth it in the end. Can't wait for her to open it on Christmas Day! Say a little prayer when you view the quilt. All I could think of while sewing hers, was how beautiful this quilt would look using Rober Kauffman Holiday Flourish fabrics. I am very proud because I quilted this myself, using metallic thread in the ribbons and doing the wavy free motion quilting in the background for the first time. The pattern called the Ribbon Box Quilt which can be found on Cloud 9 Fabrics website under their free patterns tab. Giving it away makes me a little sad so I'm going to have to make another one for my own sewing room. Measures 16 x 16. I wanted to make him something that he would enjoy; hence the red, grays and black. These are his favorite colors. The rhombus quilt was the answer. He was a science major so this was the perfect quilt. I made one box top out of a different fabric so that he would always remember to think "Outside the Box". I made two matching pillowcases and an 18" decorator pillow. The quilting was custom to bring out the 3-D boxes. The circle quilting on the pillow is the same that was on the black border. I backed it with a very soft medium gray minky. By WyomingNana 30 LIKES | 1155 VIEWS Colour Cubes First magazine quilt. Only time I've ever made a quilt from a magazine. By ljstepp 33 LIKES | 1391 VIEWS Charlotte's butterflies I made this for my daughter's 7th birthday. She picked the pattern Madame butterfly from Vanessa Goertzen's book Charm School. Her favorites colors are pink and blue so Riley Blake's fabric collection Posy Garden by Carina Gardner seemed like a natural choice! The pattern makes use of the beautiful floral charm squares perfectly. My daughter was very surprised and loves to snuggle under it and watch movies with her mum. Hopefully this will be cherished for many years to come! By KathrynW 53 LIKES | 1640 VIEWS Daughter in Law Made this quilt for my daughter in law her favorite color is turquoise.
