Happyallthetime's likes Fly Away baby quilt This is a quilt for a new little baby boy. I used a pattern from Suzy Quilt called "fly away" and fabric from Moda Cider line. I found small pieces of complimentary fabrics in my stash. I ended up with some extra half square triangles so used them in the back of the quilt to add interest. I like the way the yellow takes my eye around the quilt. By FabricFan 12 LIKES | 730 VIEWS Mom's Gems My Mom has decided that it is time to start cleaning and clearing out her house. 60 years! A long time to gather all sorts of treasures. Her collections included all sorts of clothing and fabrics left from projects clear back to the the 50's! These were really hard for her to part with and she just couldn't bring herself to cut them up. I brought home an Explorer full of fabrics and clothing she had been storing for years. We know this is hard for her so I decided to create a wall hanging using some of the most precious of these gems. Donna Jordan of Jordan fabrics has a pattern she calls Beads. I think they look more like Gems and thought these gems of fabrics would be perfect way of displaying my Mom's treasures. I used point to point quilting in the gems to give them a faceted look. By Kay1957 9 LIKES | 432 VIEWS Stars and Pinwheels I followed the Stars and Pinwheels pattern which I purchased from Missouri Star Quilt Company. They also have a tutorial which I referred to as well. I quilted it on my domestic sewing machine using diagonal serpentine lines. I backed it with solid navy fleece. The fleece made it quite a heavy quilt so it was a bit tricky to quilt! I think it’s probably a large twin size. I used mostly Kansas Troubles fabric, some new and some leftover from previous projects.
