Getting Ready to go RVing
My sewing friend, Fran, has just retired. Her plans are to spend some of that time RVing. For her birthday, I wanted to make her some place mats that have pockets. So when she sets the table, her plates, napkins, and silverware won't blow away. My idea was to design one side of the placemat as, a Ribbon Star Block, a Friendship Hexi Braid Block, and a Jack & Jill Block. The other side of these place mats were going to be the pocket for the dinner ware. To make it complete I made a matching table runner. Would I do this again? YES! It was fun experimenting using the different Blocks. I only had to cut out enough to make 3 blocks of each, therefore very manageable. Working on smaller projects, you can help yourself work out any bugs before committing to a whole quilt.
