He ask me if when I made him a quilt could it have red fabric in memory of Dale Earnhardt. I didn't tell him but thought if I was lucky I might find some laying around someplace. I only found 1 piece but that was enough. I used the black and white effervescent which gave the look of chrome. I did the Checkmark Bargello by Susie Weaver. I am very please with the results and Gary was blown away when he saw it. 2015 County Fair was in our city and this quilt took a 1st Place Ribbon and Best In Show Ribbon. Very excited because we have some amazing quilters in this city. By Sheriho 30 LIKES | 1859 VIEWS Sticks and Stones I watched the recent You Tube video by Jenny and really loved this quilt. I had just received a roll of blue batiks from Missouri Quilt and, since Hubby just painted his computer room blue, made it up, quilted it with music notes on my embroidery machine (We're both amateur musicians) Bound it and he loves it! As I was making it and noticed that my points were a little off center, so I added a center circle turning the design into flowers. Plan on making another one that will be for a twin bed. I let my grandson pick out the backing and he picked a metallic with glitter all over it. He's four. Added a little free motion quilting on the borders. I had a type of print in mind to go between the blocks, and could not find what I wanted. Then I saw the print below and it jumped into my cart all by itself!
