I am making a large orange peel quilt for my sister’s wedding and wanted a smaller quilt to practice the free motion quilting designs. This is the result. I used some Kona Ivory Yardage for the background, one batik charm pack for the petals and batik scraps from another project for the border. I free motion quilted it on my home machine with So Fine 50 wt pastel yellow thread.

Citrus Squeeze - (This is my name for this quilt)

I made this quilt with the purpose of learning to make half square triangles.....I mastered them!! Then donated the quilt to Princess Margaret Children's Hospital, Perth WA where donated quilts are given to children who have illness requiring regular hospital stays. These children are then able to take their special quilts with them for every hospital stay.

Jewel toned charm quilt on point

I loved the tutorial for this quilt by Jenny yesterday. I look forward to the MSQC tutorial every week. I had to make this quilt right away. This will be a wedding gift for a friend. I wanted to have smaller borders, so I made four borders. I love the look of the tiny border. I just finished free motion quilting the quilt for a wedding in two days :-)
