LindaV's likes Carpenter Star A friend asked me to make a quilt for her to give her sister as a wedding quilt. She choose the Carpenter Star and choose the colors to represent the bridesmaids dresses and the colors of the bride's home. (Navy, maroon and gray....the colors are slightly off in the pictures.) I quilted it on myself on my Tiara and love how it came out. By Ramblinggal 10 LIKES | 921 VIEWS Leaves are Falling A scrappy quilt for my fall room. My favorite time of year. Had lots and lots of scraps and this quilt wanted to be "born" I found a maple leaf pattern in size I was needing. Copied and pasted onto a cereal box, cut it out. Used this as my template to cut 100 leaves out of my leftovers. I spray basted the back of each leaf and put it on a square. I then edged stitched all around the outside, and then did some veining to hold it down. I quilted each square first then added the sashing strips to complete the top. Each block is a 20 inch square. By Calicosnowman 30 LIKES | 1238 VIEWS High School Colors Lone Star I have been collecting oranges to make this top. It's taken awhile, not an easy color to find. I haven't quilted it yet. One of many in a box waiting their turns. I live in a "windy" state, it seems it never stops blowing. Hard to take good pictures of my tops. By Calicosnowman 15 LIKES | 1017 VIEWS What a Gem I used a pattern by Fun and Done, a quilt as you go project. I don't remember the name of the block. I had won a bundle of black and white fat quarters and wasn't quite sure what to do with them. A cousin was getting her second grandchild and asked me to make a quilt for the new baby. This is what I came up with. Not your traditional style, but it worked. I used freezer paper to "write" on a blank block to label the quilt. By Calicosnowman 21 LIKES | 1215 VIEWS stars and stripes I made this as a donation to Quilts of Valor. Dropped it off last week at the local guild so they could get it off to the long arm. It should get presented during Veteran's week this November. By kathybloom 13 LIKES | 714 VIEWS For Kathy B This is for our fabulous, can't say enough thank you's, realtor. She rocked! By Audioadi 16 LIKES | 563 VIEWS Carpenter Star I made this for our pastor as a Christmas present. It's hard to find masculine patterns/fabrics. So I went with red/white/blue, and the carpenter star, because of course, Jesus was a carpenter. It measures 62x62. :) By Audioadi 8 LIKES | 531 VIEWS Halloween Door Panel This was two printed vest panels. I cut them up to make this Halloween Door hanging or your wall. Sorry I cut off the maker of these but have had them for a long time. I carefully machine stitched about all the printed designs, witches, pumpkins. It was labor intensive for sure. She is a dog lover-poodles are her specialty, so I came up with this pattern and added dog batik fabric for the border.
