Using any old excuse to sew, I decided to make this quilt as a birthday present for myself :) I used yardage from Joel Dewberry's "Aviary 2" line in lilac and the Pendant Quilt pattern from his blog. I used up every little scrap of the fabric to make the borders and binding. By NinaMcCloskey 25 LIKES | 1461 VIEWS Halloween Quilt Quilt no.8! Love how this turned out! I used a bunch of fat quarters and yardage from various Halloween lines, with some random fabric thrown in from my stash. I chose coordinated yardage cut to 5" squares and mixed in a couple of pre-cut charms from Riley Blake's "Oh Boy!" line. The backing was made with white dotted minky fabric. I actually started cutting the 5" squares from the "Belle" collection layer cakes and yardage last year and never got round to piecing and finishing the darn thing. I finally completed the XO-adapted design last weekend. By NinaMcCloskey 6 LIKES | 1224 VIEWS Baby Girl Quilt II - Swoon Quilt no. 11! Before attempting the real sized Swoon pattern by Camille Roskelley I wanted to practise with this smaller baby version. The color selection came into place when I found this beautiful piece of paisley yardage in my stash that I just had to use for the backing. The quilt was another gift to a friend. Once I started putting it together I realized the directions were wrong and it was not going together. The problem was I LOVED this fabric and was heartbroken. I folded all the fabric pieces up and put them in the drawer until I could figure out what to do with them; I needed to fall in love with this project again. Almost 2 months later I was petting the fabric and thinking about what I could do with it. I had just purchased Jeni Baker's Arithmetic pattern and it dawned on me I could turn the diamonds into large triangles. After some quick measuring I started re-cutting the fabric and the rest is history. I love this and it is now one of my favorite quilts.
