Saw this in the Block Idea Book, Vol. 7 Issue 6 2020. Page 68. I didn't have the template so I asked a friend. She just had a little one. (2.5 inch strips as opposed to the 4.5 Jenny was using) I put it in the scanner and increased the size to fit a 3 inch strip. Then to ensure I was getting the correct angle and not cutting my little piece of paper template I placed my 60 degree diamond template over. The angle was perfect! This will be another shroud. I quilted feathers in the white areas and an all over meander throughout the floral pieces.

Wonky Stars

This is another Dignity Quilt. Pieced from all sorts of scraps and bits and bobs of peach colored fabrics. I made all the main part of the stars from the same fabric. (Well, can you find the one I couldn't?) I have been having fun with the hook and feathers quilting pattern. A friend who saw it thought it looked like roses.

Another Wonky Stars

I made this one first out of the peach fabrics in my stash and put the pretty dark border on it. I scrambled the pieces all around to really give it a scrappy look. This one I quilted stars in the center of the stars where the other I just shadowed the outline. Again playing with the roses quilting pattern in the background and a really large version of it in the border.

Mom's Gems

My Mom has decided that it is time to start cleaning and clearing out her house. 60 years! A long time to gather all sorts of treasures. Her collections included all sorts of clothing and fabrics left from projects clear back to the the 50's! These were really hard for her to part with and she just couldn't bring herself to cut them up. I brought home an Explorer full of fabrics and clothing she had been storing for years. We know this is hard for her so I decided to create a wall hanging using some of the most precious of these gems. Donna Jordan of Jordan fabrics has a pattern she calls Beads. I think they look more like Gems and thought these gems of fabrics would be perfect way of displaying my Mom's treasures. I used point to point quilting in the gems to give them a faceted look.

Scrappy Baby

Using a bunch of scraps, I made 41/2 inch blocks and then made those into half square triangles, trimming to 4 inches. Yes, I still have a ton of scraps. This finished at 42 x 42 inches square.

Tulip Time Table Runner

Soooooo ready for Spring! I made this table runner using MSQCs Tulip Fields tulips pattern, then alternated/flipped the tulips and put sashing in between each one. The flanged binding is one I recently learned how to make from Natalie's MSQC Final Stitch video, Episode 8: Machine Binding. Fabric: KimberBell basics for Maywood Studio and Kona Cotton Muslin color. The wavy quilting I did with my walking-foot.

Rose Star Quilt

I made this lap size quilt using the pattern and instructions from the book by Teresa Mairal Barreu called "Turnabout Patchwork." You start with a simple block, in this case, a half-square triangle. Then you slice, turn, and sew the slices back together to create a hunter star design. I used part of a 10" inch jewel tone precut to begin with and added background fabric of cream/branches and buds. I machine quilted an overall star design.

Large beach Bag

Last summer my younger daughter wanted a large tote, so she went through my fabrics and found these Island Batik strips. I wasn't sure what to do and for some reason the braid idea emerged. I even took a few scrap strips from the braids and sewed them into the handle of the bag. She used it a lot for going to the local pool. On the back I just sewed the strips up coin style. It turned out pretty good for no pattern!
