By May of this year I will have 8 baby quilts "due". Among the expectant mothers, I have a few who choose not to find out baby's sex, but I'm counting on one or two baby girls in the mix. I do many aqua colorway quilts that can be used for boys or girls. I decided to add some pink to my cache of completed quilts and ran across this easy-peezy pattern. Maze Quilt

This goes to my granddaughter who says it makes her feel happy when she looks at it, which is good cuz she has major depression. She loves it, it’s called Precious Stones from Big Book of Fat Quarter Quilts. I used 2.5 inch squares cut from charm packs and a white jelly roll plus some white yardage.

Sailing the high seas

This was commissioned as a memory quilt for a 7yr old boy. Many of the fabrics are from his old clothes. His name is Coen and he and his family are currently sailing the world. The flags on the top two rows spell out his name and year of birth using the nautical alphabet.

Fly Away baby quilt

This is a quilt for a new little baby boy. I used a pattern from Suzy Quilt called "fly away" and fabric from Moda Cider line. I found small pieces of complimentary fabrics in my stash. I ended up with some extra half square triangles so used them in the back of the quilt to add interest. I like the way the yellow takes my eye around the quilt.

Scrappy Baby

Using a bunch of scraps, I made 41/2 inch blocks and then made those into half square triangles, trimming to 4 inches. Yes, I still have a ton of scraps. This finished at 42 x 42 inches square.

Bunny Baby Quilt

Someone gave me some leftover pieces of this fabric, so a baby quilt was born, this one will go to my guild to surprise a new mom who can use it. It measures 33" x 39" and gave me a chance to practice meandering! So much fun!

good fortune

This quilt is loosely based on the good fortune quilt. I used the blue and grey HST left over corners to make circle of friends blocks and then inserted them with coping stirps. Added 9 patches to the sashing. I still have some of the layer cake left so decorative pillows will be added. The quilting is again inspired by Angela Walters.
