Terrilene's likes Annabelle's Quilt This quilt is for my granddaughter, Annabelle. I am in the process of making quilts for my family after a long time away from sewing, and i am thoroughly enjoying my time again. Annabelle helped picked some fabrics and helped organize the squares, and sat at the machine with me a few times to help sew. When I was done, I had a lot of fabric scraps leftover. I wanted to keep the scraps together, at least for one more quilt. I took some foundation paper squares I had left from a different project and randomly placed fabric on them. I put a strip of black down the long side of the triangle and paired them up. I then sashed each square and put it within a border. Even the backing fabric for this quilt is left over from the original! It's a throw size, but looks pretty good. It is a retirement quilt for a docent that worked at a museum. The large squares are from his suit jackets and the colorful lines are made from his silk ties. 90" x 108" By blbaughman 20 LIKES | 1619 VIEWS African Lady Found a royalty free image online, printed on 8.5 x 11 paper, had it enlarged 300% (2 copies). It's called floating squares and it was quick and fun to make. I used a Lori Kennedy free motion pattern for the border. I'm at the Outer Banks this week, but I caught a virus/bronchitis from my husband. Hand sewing is keeping me occupied between naps, while my family is at the beach and swimming pool. Lovely balcony to display the quilts I've been working on. I made this quilt top out of 3.5" squares provided by my guild as a community quilt for my quilt guild. This quilt (when completed) will be given to an organization that provides items to foster children in backpacks. Bonnie Hunter "Dancing Nine Patch' pattern. 50" x 60" maximum size requested by receiving organization. By blbaughman 14 LIKES | 667 VIEWS Zig Zag Zoom The quilt design is by Mary Ann Altendorf. I cut my 2" strip sets into squares and thought this could be a good way to use up the "thousands" of 2" strips and make something different. I hope it puts a smile on a child's face!
