An Irish Knot modernized
In 1982, after finishing our Trainee time as Commercial employees in Switzerland, a friend and I went to Ireland for almost a year to study English. The aim was to become more fluent, getting a wider vocabluary and better spelling (hope I don't make a fool of myself here...) and of course finish the Thing with a paper. What I couldn't possibly know was the Impact Ireland and in particular my guest Family had on me. My husband and I have since then (we met 6 weeks before I was due to go there) spent countless Holidays on the Emerald Island and "my" Family came to Switzerland as well. We've seen children growing up here and there and weddings were attendet and grandchildren came along. Which is where the quilting came in Handy. All of "my" Irish Grandchildren have a quilt.
But this is the one I made for my Irish Parents.
