My Fern Gully Quilt

Have you ever gotten a layer cake with such gorgeous fabrics you just couldn't bear to cut them up? Here is my solution! The first time ever, I sewed the entire thing in one day! Still need to add borders and backing and quilt it, of course. I know it's dragonflies, but it reminds me of when my children were little and loved the movie and the music of Fern Gully.

Faux Hare Fair

My design inspiration for this quilt came from a pom pom key fob I found at J Crew. I loved the color palette and proportions of the colors. I submitted it to a magazine for publication but it wasn't accepted but all that means I get to share it sooner!!
