blbaughman's likes Quilt of Valor for Mayor Burns I have worked for a municipality in Alabama for 29 years, serving as City Clerk for the last 20 of those years. I have worked for Mayor Burns the entire time. He has often admired the quilts I have made and gifted and asked one day when was he getting his. He is a Vietnam Veteran so I made him this beauty in honor of his military service and his service to the City of Southside. To say the least he was pleasantly surprised. It is truly a Big Bag! By Debnewcomb 8 LIKES | 521 VIEWS Scrap Pillow Cover I am trying desperately to use up my scraps. They appear to be multiplying. Used the wacky web ruler template from Missouri Star. Another fun project completed. By plquilter66 9 LIKES | 977 VIEWS Sonora: A Contemporary Southwestern Quilt I saw this quilt on display at a quilt show in Albuquerque, New Mexico. I thought it was quite striking! The quilt was designed by J. Michelle Watts (www.jmichellewatts.com). The pattern includes three sizes and two different options for making a six color quilt or a two color quilt. I really like working with half square triangles and this pattern is fun to do. I used Modern Wave 3 from Urban Elementz as the edge to edge quilting design. By SantaFeSusan 10 LIKES | 1201 VIEWS Dolly quilt for Victoria I made a tulip quilt for my niece a while back and thought that a coordinating dolly quilt would be fun to do with left over blocks from projects. I used left over wool batting and fabric from my stash to add to the blocks. I had been struggling with quilting swirls, so this was a fun, low pressure opportunity to improve them. By Jillane 26 LIKES | 711 VIEWS First Double Wedding Ring Quilt I My brother asked me to make a quilt for friends of his who live out of the country. These friends recently got married and wanted to give my brother a gift. The gift was a beautiful Persian Rug to take home with him. He thought of a wedding gift to give them when he returned. He requested flowers intertwined throughout wedding rings. I now need to free motion quilt feathers and fillers. By cnfulton 10 LIKES | 859 VIEWS Ajax FC (Soccer) A friend and colleague is a major fan of this team. He posted one of their ads announcing a game and it struck me that I could replicate it with charm squares. He was thrilled when I gave it to him. I did ditch quilting and used a grunge basic on the back. By KenE 8 LIKES | 1005 VIEWS Hello Baby! My niece is having her second child, I couldn't resist the opportunity to use this panel. In the past month I have sent out four baby quilts and my "collection/selection" was getting low, so I made this to replenish my stash. Everyone gets a baby quilt--whether it is your first or your fourth. LOL Aqua seems a good choice to keep it gender neutral. I experimented with variegated threads in shades of blues. The lesson learned is that it requires expertise fmq which I have not achieved. It is still a fun quilt. By Audioadi 20 LIKES | 574 VIEWS «12...443444445446447448449...675676»
