Using up fabrics from my childhood
I was making this quilt at the Lutheran Church where I volunteer time to make quilts that are sent around the world to people in need of warm blankets. It started out with only a few ideas, and no real plan--the way I always seem to work. Planning--bah! Ideas I had, none of which was original: Use scraps from home and from the church's massive collection of fabrics. Put together 9" squares in an appealing assortment of color groupings, separate the squares with sashing so each one is like a jewel, and make a border so the quilt measures 60" X 80" when finished. Tie the quilt at the end.
