kraftykat45's likes Safe and Sound This quilt was created for a local women’s shelter. Donated quilts are used on the shelter beds and when a woman leaves she can take it home. Everyone deserves something pretty in their lives. I used Wildwood Way layer cake and a few batiks (since I messed up a few blocks By RoxburyGirl 6 LIKES | 781 VIEWS Charlotte's butterflies I made this for my daughter's 7th birthday. She picked the pattern Madame butterfly from Vanessa Goertzen's book Charm School. Her favorites colors are pink and blue so Riley Blake's fabric collection Posy Garden by Carina Gardner seemed like a natural choice! The pattern makes use of the beautiful floral charm squares perfectly. My daughter was very surprised and loves to snuggle under it and watch movies with her mum. Hopefully this will be cherished for many years to come! By KathrynW 53 LIKES | 1577 VIEWS On Eagles Wing I was inspired to make a quilt when I saw this quilt pattern in a Design Origionals book. This quilt used 720 - 21/2” half square triangles. I experimented using Cake Mix #3. Lots of fun! For the border, I used 1 charm pack. Used Navy dot fabric for background and kona cotton navy for the border and binding. Changed up the boarder a bit and added some little stars in the sashing. Navy minky on the back. Used free motion quilted feathers and tried some ruler work in the boarder. Challenges in this quilt: using a dark fabric on the back required dark bobbin thread and some tension manipulation to try minimize the bobbin thread showing on quilt top. If anyone has a secret minimizing bobbin thread showing let me know! By Jillane 61 LIKES | 2330 VIEWS Quatrefoil Another one of Jenny's great tutorials. By estelle71 28 LIKES | 777 VIEWS «1234567»
