So as I started designing the quilting for this wholecloth I soon found I had Angels wings and harp strings. I filled hearts with hearts because angels are so full of love. The star block is the "Nifty Star" from Celia Eddy's The Quilter's Block Bible (Quarto, 2003). It was fun shopping for other western themed fabrics (I probably bought enough to make another ten cowboy quilts.) I stayed with her for 2 and a half weeks last October when I visited her from Australia. We went to MSQC and we met Jenny! It was a most wonderful time in my life. I got a little carried away and went searching through my stash for anything I could use to make them out of. I especially like the large one which I used two orphan stitchery blocks that we're going to be cushions...one day. Now they're chooks! I also liked experimenting with different tails and turned them around so they sat more upright so some were roosters who look like they are crowing :0) my "real" duck liked sleeping near them you'll see her in the background lol By AussieVicky 10 LIKES | 1232 VIEWS Zachary's Envelope Quilt I made this quilt for my son, Zachary, who lives on the west coast, far from me in South Dakota. i used a Jenny tutorial and 10" precuts from MSQC. The quilt is queen size and went together pretty quickly. I used 2 1/2 strips and didn't bother to match but just picked up one and sewed them together 4 of them. Then using a more plain fabric I cut a 10 inch square and also a 10 inch square of my 4 strips. I then sewed these right sides together all the way around. I cut them in a even X and the made squares from the pieces arranging them so I had the plainer fabric in a pinwheel design. These are twin size By caf7carq 17 LIKES | 1628 VIEWS Block of the month on Craftsy This came from the block of the month, but I wanted to make a whole quilt out of it. Really wish I'd used a 30 degree ruler instead, so the pattern in the fabric shows up better. That's okay, now I have an excuse to do something with that Christmas fabric I've been hoarding.
