Applique Wall Hanging

I took my very first applique class and really enjoyed. The instructor was Susan McCombs; a very good teacher and very thorough. This was the freezer paper method using starch and it was needle-turned applique. Susan designed several applique blocks and we worked on one of the blocks in class. I found some fabric that matched the design of the applique and used that in the border. I quilted this wall hanging on my sewing machine.
