The big cube has 72 different fabrics; the small cubes have the same six fabrics except for the black and white cube, which is the center block. So 79 different fabrics all together. (Hand stitched, big cube is 12" square, small cubes are 3.5".) Pieced by me, professionally quilted. I didn’t keep info about whose products I used but I will from here on out. I am calling it Blueberry Pie because it reminds me of pie lattice and it’s blue. By JennyMadeIt 11 LIKES | 589 VIEWS Alzheimer’s Gift My heart is happy❤️. A nice lady wanted one of my flat wool felt doll sets to give to her mother suffering with Alzheimer’s. I told her I would make a pouch for her to put the doll in too. The feel of textures and the memory of childhood toys gets her through the day. I added a note too. I hope in some way I helped. MSQC had a daily deal for Ninja-themed charm packs, and my son was obsessed with Lego Ninjago at the time and about to turn 5. It seemed like the perfect confluence of events to motivate me to take the plunge and try my hand (and machine!) at quilting. Not all my corners line up quite right, and doing the quilting on my home machine was much harder than I expected (so much turning, so little space!), but the most important thing is that my son loves his cute-and-cool-at-the-same-time quilt, and snuggles under it happily ever night. By Cecilia 8 LIKES | 1864 VIEWS "Worn Out West" I purchased this Alexander Henry fabric about 7 years before I started using it as I became involved with other activities. About 1 year later I found at little bit more of the fabric (through Etsy). Then it took me about 6 months to find complementary fabrics and plan a design. As I'm horsewoman, this fabric is very dear to me. The blue is nearly a jeans color but matches the blue in the AH fabric. The sashing is a pale grey with white and the grey picks up the same grey on the conchos, bolo, and buckles. I'm sure many will recognize the old vines & leaves gold... that's such a standby fabric that comes in SO many colors. I have saved the selvedge and will incorporate that into the quilt as I finish it. All the squares are now completed (May 2017). This was only my 2nd ever quilt. By Phantom-Rose 5 LIKES | 885 VIEWS Penny Rugs The name from the Civil War era when ladies would use up scraps of wool, cut them in penny-sized circles and make decorative things for the home. I make them while I'm sitting and chatting with the ladies at Needlecrafters. Much easier than lugging around my sewing machine.
