This is an antique hankie I quilted for my granddaughter Kylee. Her room is gray and turquoise. The hankie was handed down to me from my great grandmother, her great-great grandma. It is a way to preserve a piece of our past. after quilting the piece, I added small pearl beads to the centers of the lace flowers.

Row by Row

Each row taught me a new technique. Each row also tells a story or fun memory of my family from the past 12 years!! it was a fun fun project that i'm glad I actually finished! The back is all different fabrics that represent the 6 of us in fun ways too:) I did free motion quilting on each row or block separately, then joined them together. I also did a double sided binding!

Wedding quilt

My nephew and his fiance' are going to be married Sept 12, 2015. I decided I would make them this quilt. Luckily I had started this last Fall. In Feb and again in April I needed eye surgery. This summer I was plagued with eye problems and feared I would not be able to finish it. The wonderful ladies at MSQC long armed it for me. I just got it back and by the Grace of God I was able to see well enough the sew the binding on it. The pattern is Lakeside Dreams from the book Fat Quarter Five by Heather Mulder Peterson. The material is from Susan Winget line by Legacy Studios and some scraps I added in to it. The label was one I saw on Pinterest and added my own touches. I am very proud of this quilt!

Purple Potpourri Quilt

Peggy's Quilt #4 - Simon's Halloween Quilt

This is my fourth quilt. My son and daughter-in-law moved to California and took my 2 grandkids with them. ;{ So I made them each a Halloween Quilt. This one is for 6-year-old Simon. The machine piecing on this one didn't take long (May 18-21, 2015), using the MSQC Four Patch Frenzy tutorial. The fabric is Cheeky Pumpkins by DT-K Signature (1 layer cake) plus half of one black jelly roll and half of one white jelly roll. The back is orange flannel. It was long arm free-motion quilted by Lyn Durbin at Camlyn Quilts. Lyn put spider webs in the corners as well as Simon's name and 2015. I love quilting! Peggy

Freedom Quil

I had the privilege of knowing Debbie Allen, one of my QuiltSisters. She passed away and I inherited some of her UFOs. She had started this quilt with dolls. I loved it - had to finish it - enlisted Winnie for cross stitch, LaVerne for clothes and Sarah for assistance with graphics. Traveled to Selma for the 50th Anniversary March and worked on my quilt.
