Usually I am working on holiday projects up to the last minute but I seem to be ahead of schedule this year. This quilt is comprised of blocks that were part of a quilt along presented on sewfreshquilts.com from January to August 2017. There was a total of 15 blocks presented, each using a construction method that was new to me. "Holiday Images" has versions 6 of the blocks laid out in a row quilt arrangement. The background is a light blue batik embossed with silver snowflakes. Longarm quilting was done by Shirley at Olde City Quilts, Burlington, NJ.

A Witch and Her Hat

The four machine embroidered blocks with a witch theme were created while I was learning to use various features of an embroidery sewing machine. I experimented with glow in the dark thread on the witch stirring her cauldron (it really does glow in the dark). The quilting in the blocks is hand quilting. The piece can be used as a wall hanging, door decoration, or a table accent.

Stained Glass Tree Skirt

56.5 inches in diameter, this tree skirt pattern is from the book, Christmas Traditions in Stained Glass by Brenda Henning. I made this in 2000; I took the photo of my grandchildren decorating my tree in 2008. I gave this tree skirt to my eldest daughter this past Christmas, as she helped me take down my decorations. I know that she will use and cherish it in her new home in Nevada.

Tree Skirt

I made this a few years ago, at the request of one of my daughters. She wanted a large tree skirt, one with a diameter greater than those offered in stores. I added the machine embroidered snowflake designs around the border as part of the quilting. Those designs are from Embroidery Library.

Dachshunds Gone Wrong

This is an example of what 60 degree triangles can do to a repeat figure stripe. I loved this wonderful striped fabric by M'Liss, and was determined to make a table runner out of it. However, I had trouble with my fussy cuts. I had to keep this runner because of "the problem." I plan on putting it on my table this holiday season and then I'll wait for the grandkids to comment. Can you spy what's wrong with this picture?

Coda's Quilt

My nephew Tom who is in the Army and his wife Jen had their first baby on July 5th. I've been making quilts for my great-nieces & nephews, not typical baby quilts but ones that will take them into college. Since Coda was born in a military family and just after the 4th, of course his had to be patriotic!

OK , so this started out to be a baby Halloween quilt. Then I decided to add some log cabin blocks, a few stars around the little girl in center , a 6 inch border on each end and I still have to add a border or maybe two!! Sometimes I just get in the mood and off I go! Hope you like it.

Halloween Monster Bash Table Runner

I did a throw size Halloween quilt using Jenny's zipper quilt tutorial, and thought a table runner would be a good way to use up the leftover fabric. I machine quilted it myself, I've been trying to practice on smaller projects to work my way up to quilting some larger quilts.

9 Patch Swap

I started to make the 9 patch swap for a friends wedding gift. I did not like the quilt with all of the white in the background. I decided to try one block with navy in the background and when I put the navy block in between the white blocks, I loved the results. This is one of my favourite quilts that I have made.
