Wish I could say it made a dent in the pile but no. It's the first time I tried quilting myself. This is for the new granddaughter that will arrive this weekend! By kathybloom 10 LIKES | 583 VIEWS Music Heals the Soul Quilt I made for my for piano/guitar instructor who is having knee surgery. The song in the bottom is the first verse of You Are My Sunshine. The guitar is a copy of my own. Gave it to my teacher and it made him cry. Then I had to convince him that he had to use it. He wanted to hang it. We came to the compromise of he would use it while he was in rehab and he could hang it when he started teaching again By sketchart123 17 LIKES | 826 VIEWS Teal and Green Quilt This quilt was an experiment in strip piecing, modified quilt as you go and free motion quilting on my domestic sewing machine. By Lena 4 LIKES | 965 VIEWS Indigo Throw Although Jelly Roll Race is the first and remains my favorite Jenny Doan tutorial, the jelly roll just sat there. I finally felt up to trying it if I didn't actually race! I had 1 1/2 jelly rolls, cuz my daughter wanted it big. It turned out too wide and not long enough. (She likes it to cover her feet AND head!) so I chopped some off and sewed it back on to the top and bottom to add length. Now when her chair looks messy... it's a good look. The top is still not finished. It is an eclectic mix, the fabric with the measure tape is a sweet memory of a business trip to Uppsala where I was so happy to find a lovely fabric store, background is from a large Swedish Furniture house with 4 letters (guess what?) and the other bits are dapper fabric purchased the dutch fabric market, the Riley Blake in the centre was a find in Michelstadt. It was my first attempt at inset seams and loads of pieces on bias even though I used the lone star strip method I saw on the internet. The center seams are currently open and are awaiting a re-sew with more accuracy so that the bulk is and the slight hill is avoided.... A coworker ordered it for her father as a Christmas present. I ordered the middle chocolate lab panel from Ebay, and found the smaller pictures on Etsy. I also had to order the tractor fabric from Ebay. The client was very active in helping pick out the fabric, since her father loves his lab dog, is a farmer and loved pheasant hunting. She also wanted a fluffy polar fleece as the backing. I had so much fun designing this quilt. I was able to add the dog's name to the middle picture with my Viking Sapphire 960Q machine. The quilt was a huge hit! By CandiceS 7 LIKES | 1050 VIEWS «12...216217218219220221222...339340»
