We all have "that" child. You know, the one that wants a quilt but can only tell you a color. For months I've texted fabric, patterns etc. but nothing ever hit the spot for her. I live for Jenny's weekly tutorials, they always put a pep in my step, and get those creative juices flowing. The day I saw the tutorial on Emerald Isle, I knew that had to be it. I texted my darling daughter and told her to watch You Tube for that quilt. I quickly got a reply back, That's It! Whew, ok let's buy fabric quickly before she changes her mind. I gave her my MSQC sign in and told her what precut to choose from and we were off to the races. By Shryclftn 23 LIKES | 1100 VIEWS My Design II So I am designing my own quilt top. Soon I will sketch it out on paper! I will give my husband some credit. He gave me some ideas that were good. We took photographs of the top together. The top is not finished but is coming along. By Jkdp101 2 LIKES | 922 VIEWS Friends under the Sea After seeing several quilts using fabric panels, I decided to take the plunge. This was so simple. I cut the small aquatic squares and used Jenny Doan's "The Tipsy Tumbler" quilt idea and enclosed the small squares within 10" squares. Then used those squares as the border around the big panel. Included with the fabric panel were coordinating strips which I sewed on opposite corners. This was so easy. I decided to see if I could come up with another design and they seemed to fit as flowers. Made with donated scraps cut into 2" squares. I I changed it up a little...different fabric, changed the shapes slightly & added a border. I'm going to gift it to one of my husband's co-workers who is about to be a first time Grandma. Hope she likes it! By Michelle4332 58 LIKES | 4214 VIEWS Strips and Four Patches This is one of Jenny's patterns. Thank you for all the great patterns and tutorials. By estelle71 20 LIKES | 1019 VIEWS No Pattern at All I had a 10" stack and a jelly roll of the same fabric. By mgnelson 9 LIKES | 1078 VIEWS Fat Friday I bought a kit that used fat quarters called Fat Friday. It uses 12, 16, 20, 30 fatquarters, depending on how big you want the quilt to be. Each block ends up 16" square. I found this to be a VERY EASY pattern to use for a quick and colorful quilt. The pattern suggests piling the fat quarters in a stack and cutting many at a time. I stacked 4 of them to make this 12 block quilt. All fabrics pulled from my stash to go with 5 that came together in a fat quarter bundle. Quilted with my favorite swirls. My friend loved it, it has a soft flannel backing, so I gave it to her! By JeanJean71 4 LIKES | 725 VIEWS «12...127128129130131132133...339340»
