La Cucaracha

This was a small wall quilt I made a few years ago for a quilt challenge my guild had. The inner border was the challenge fabric. We had to use five fabrics, including the challenge fabric. Size was specified. Embroidery and embellishments were allowed. I appliquéd the (pardon me) cockroach, sombrero and letters and added googly eyes, and spangles for castanets.

Prairie Winds

Tree of Life

I saw a set of ceramic tiles that really caught my eye. (A photo of the tiles are shown on the lower right) They were done in earth tones and when put together, formed a beautiful tree of life mural. I immediately thought what a beautiful quilt that would make. I had purchased some Stonehenge Warm Stone fat quarters awhile back that I hadn't found the "perfect" project for and they were exactly what was needed. The squares were sewn together with black fabric forming the sashing (grout) between each block. I then sketched out the tree on the blocks. This is all totally free motion quilting. It was so much fun working on this.

Twisted Snowman

This looks so cute but twisted anythings are not as much fun as they are work. You sew everything together, cut them out, and sew them back together again. It was fun once but I probably won't do another large "twisted" anything. Small projects like twisted placemats or table runners are great but anything larger is too much cutting for my taste. :)

Twister Tool, I call this "Spring"

I love batiks, the color purple & that gadget called the twister tool. The colors of the swirely remind me of tulips and the border fabric has snowflakes, which remind me that spring is always full of surprises.

Tribal Primitive Modern

This was from a Benartex kit, one of those with 300 pre-cut pieces that can be assembled in many different ways. Sort of a modern set using primitive-looking prints. This one I put on ebay just to see what it would bring; it barely paid for the materials but it was fun to make.
