Saw this on Jenny's tutorial, had to make one.

Another way to use up those bits of leftover fabrics. I did use Jenny's tutorial, but am not able to upload or find it. It's called Jenny's Wallflower Quilt. I didn't have the orange peel template, so I made my own. Used the quilter plastic to make the template. Used a 2 1/2 square piece of paper and just cut a football shape from it.

Chopped Block in Loud Colors

I seen Jenny's tutorial on this project and wanted to make one for me. I chose these batiks and black not really knowing how it was going to turn out. When finished I knew I had to name this top...I AM LOUD! This will eventually go to my daughter.

First Double Wedding Ring Quilt I

My brother asked me to make a quilt for friends of his who live out of the country. These friends recently got married and wanted to give my brother a gift. The gift was a beautiful Persian Rug to take home with him. He thought of a wedding gift to give them when he returned. He requested flowers intertwined throughout wedding rings. I now need to free motion quilt feathers and fillers.

Sonora: A Contemporary Southwestern Quilt

I saw this quilt on display at a quilt show in Albuquerque, New Mexico. I thought it was quite striking! The quilt was designed by J. Michelle Watts (www.jmichellewatts.com). The pattern includes three sizes and two different options for making a six color quilt or a two color quilt. I really like working with half square triangles and this pattern is fun to do. I used Modern Wave 3 from Urban Elementz as the edge to edge quilting design.

Purple mushroom quilt

Update: It's quilted with swirl hooks and bound. My friend and I made this purple mushroom quilt for my friends husband to give to his wife for her birthday (she loves mushrooms and purple). My friend paper-pieced the mushrooms at a retreat months ago. We cut and sewed the remaining part of the quilt all day today. Her friends are visiting in four days. Quilt is 63" square. Mushroom pattern is from the book "A Paper-pieced Garden: 27 Mix-and-Match Blocks Plus Unique Quilts" by Maaike Bakker and Francoise Maarse

Sharing a layer cake

My friend and I split a package of Kaffe Fassett 10” squares to each make a Tranquil Triangles quilt. We chose different borders and backing, so our quilts are more sisters rather than twins! It was a great project to do together and it all went quickly with two of us sharing tasks.

Finding Myself

I drew this pattern out on graph paper and had two colors in mind. This one I have made 2X's. I gave this one away to a great nephew for graduation last year. I guess this was the only gift he received and won't take it off his bed. I did an overall quilt pattern and made a label also, but I haven't found any pictures of when it was completed. I must of forgotten to take some before it left my house.

Memory Quilt

A good friend of mine asked if I would make a T-shirt memory quilt from her late husband's shirts. I was thrilled to do this for her. My first T-shirt quilt. She requested flannel for the back. The border is Michael Millers Painters canvas - black. Very fitting as her husband was a painter.

Doggie Herringbone

I wanted to make a quilt that my son and his girlfriend would love. The quilt was their Christmas present. They have a Boston Terrier that is their child and this fabric has adorable Boston Terriers on it. I used layer cakes - Best in Show by Greta Lynn for Kanvas Studios and a white layer cake also. The pattern came from a tutorial on MSQC. It is quilted with a cute dog bone pattern. Also used the flange binding tutorial and loved how the binding turned out.

Found a royalty free image online, printed on 8.5 x 11 paper, had it enlarged 300% (2 copies). One copy for reference, second copy as template. Used 'fabric magic' to add texture to headdress, dress and jewelry.
