Log Cabin Cross

I made this wall hanging for my sister as one of her Christmas gifts. The fabric is mostly Tula Pink Mesa Spirit Animal. The rest of the fabric came from my stash. The pattern I used is called “Log Cabin Cross” by Quiltfox Designs. I quilted it using a simple all over meander (what can I say, I was out of time).

Strips & Four Patch

I tried this pattern after viewing the MSQC tutorial for the Strips and Four Patch quilt. I quilted the main quilt with stitch in the ditch. On the borders I used a Borders Made Easy adhesive pattern. On the corners I attempted FMQ to tie in the side border patterns. I used the Van Gogh Jelly roll with matching fabrics for the borders and the backing.

jumping jack quilt block variation

MSQ video Jumping Jack inspired this quilt block. I plan to make adjustments to future blocks .... I want different faces and different shades for the faces. I am also not too happy with the proportions of the head and the body. I am also not happy with the lack of contrast between the background and the face.

“Enchanted” Chevrons

I created this quilt for my older daughter for Christmas. (Her first quilt from me. Her first quilt was her baby quilt made by her great, great Aunt Lois Westen) She has loved Beauty and the Beast since it came out when she was a child. She also loves the color pink. I used Koda White for the background and 2/3 yard cuts of multiple cotton and batik fabrics for the chevrons (6-10” squares) pieced and quilted on my domestic machine. The quilt finished at 79”x90”. It was truly a labor of love and she loves it!

Elephant bag :)

I saw this fabric a while ago and thought it would make a cute bag. I kind of followed the tumbler bag tutorial, but obviously did not use any precuts. The fabric is out of the upholstery section so not really quilting material :) I added the flap,which opened all kinds of pain and trouble for me, but I muddled my way through. By no means perfect but for a first try not too bad :)
