She gave me so many compliments and told me the quilt spoke to her. We can't wait for this brave friend to receive the Bee Quilt! By Jkdp101 13 LIKES | 855 VIEWS Zebras on the Run II I had enough Zebra Stripe and fat quarter pieces left from Zebras quilt I to make another lap quilt, and I was on a roll. However, I didn't have any more of the jungle animals border print, but I still had more pieces of Zebra stripe. I decided to try a black-and-zebras foundation-pieced border. Of course, I was one piece short on the zebras, so I did some creative substitution of the black on the top and bottom borders. I was going to donate this quilt to Linus, too.....but I've been informed that my mother's first great-great grandchild will be arriving this year, so I'm considering quilting this and gifting it to my great-niece, instead. By dzirin 14 LIKES | 901 VIEWS Row by Row 2017 - On the Go I gathered the materials (half were just patterns, half were kits from the participating shops), and got to work. I used a consistent fabric for the sky and grass at the top of the quilt to create more unified whole. There were several applique rows, one paper pieced row, and the row with the sea turtles had yo-yos for the shells. The arrangement I used ended up with a 62x62 throw. I quilted it on a longarm machine, doing free motion quilting. With the poly batting, this is a quilt that can be used anywhere. By nancileigh 7 LIKES | 801 VIEWS Row By Row 2017 I won !! Added their names for extra fun! My sister's mother-in-love does most of my long-arm quilting and she is the absolute best - does beautiful work! By ozarksgrandma 8 LIKES | 997 VIEWS Love for Luna I watched the Crafty Gemini Creates tutorial on paper piecing hearts and wanted to make a mini quilt for our new bedroom in our new house. I used Bonnie and Camille "Hello Darling" fat quarters I had bought from my LQS and quilted it in the ditch. After I made it, my husband was looking at it and his cat Luna came over and started loving on it. She is the sweetest cat who just wants to be held and loved all day long. Both my husband and I knew it was meant for her. She now has a little blankie to help keep her warm. They sent all the fabric and I used a stripe I had in my stash to bind it. This is so cool- I love it- and it hangs up in my quilting space. By AnnWitten 15 LIKES | 1310 VIEWS Thank You For Your Service This is an Honor Quilt that I designed using EQ7. I wanted to have a lot of varied block types and sizes in this quilt to make this quilt very interesting and offer many forms of quilting. I also wanted to make sure I had plenty of center space to do what I love best - free motion quilting. I digitized the lettering on the scroll below the eagle stitched it out on my Brother Quattro embroidery machine. This quilt, which will be donated to a deserving unknown veteran at Walter Reed Hospital, measures 72" x 86" and was quilted on my Baby Lock Tiara. The center United States Seal is all trapunto work under the eagle, olive branches, arrows, scroll and stars. It was painted after the entire quilt was completed and laundered using paints by Jacquard. This was definitely a labor of love! By JeanneH 12 LIKES | 1129 VIEWS «12»
