The main blocks were from a book called "Paper pieced Stained Glass Garden Stars." The border I designed myself with the help of my husbands AutoCad program.

    I took my first paper piecing class from Peggy Martin a couple of months ago. Although I'm not very good at it yet, I like this quilt. Applique is what I truly love to do, so I added a pattern from 'Southern Gentlemen'. The setting triangles are my idea. I really like them. I hope this will be pretty after quilting.

    Lively season with another colleague expecting. She is from India, so I wanted very bright colors. Will be a little boy. I had a print with a peacock (Indian National animal) on it, so I decided this to be my inspiration fabric. Wanted to try pickle dish for some time and thought medallion will work. Also will piece the corners for setting this on point, but it is still growing. Finished the center last weekend and still trying to find a good solution on the setting triangles.

    Although there was a fabric kit for this quilt, I challenged myself to only use fabric already in my stash. I had to improvise in a few places, but it turned out so cuddly and bright! I added some vintage lace for my feminine daughter, who loves roses and rose scented lotion.

    A Christmas present for my father and also the third quilt I've ever made. Made with Kansas Troubles Quilters' Heartfelt fabric collection using MSQC's Bear Paw tutorial. The flying geese border is paper pieced from all the trimmings made while creating the bear paw blocks.

    I have updated this with the full top done as the main picture instead of the pieced picture and now have included the quilted pictures as it has been quilted, bound and is finished! It's a Judy Niemeyer pattern. It received a Best of Show for 2016 at our local guild's quilt show!

    I gathered the materials (half were just patterns, half were kits from the participating shops), and got to work. I used a consistent fabric for the sky and grass at the top of the quilt to create more unified whole. There were several applique rows, one paper pieced row, and the row with the sea turtles had yo-yos for the shells. The arrangement I used ended up with a 62x62 throw. I quilted it on a longarm machine, doing free motion quilting. With the poly batting, this is a quilt that can be used anywhere.
