    No story really, just loved the panel and decided I needed to make another quilt. Used 1 panel and 2 charm packs along with kona solids. Quilt is 57" x 57". Quilting done by Hunters Quilt Mart.

    Patriotic Memory Quilt

    This is a 35" x 35" wall hanging. I made this for a woman who lost 2 sons in their 40's to heart disease, and they were both Veterans. Across the top I put the Name (which I've blocked out for privacy) and the branch of service emblem for each son. Across the bottom, the words Honor Remember Cherish Love. I wanted the elements to be subtle and incorporated into the quilt, and have a patriotic feel. The piecing was a little tricky, so I quilted each block instead of an all-over quilting. I did it with rulers on a Babylock Tiara.

Hard to believe now, as there are not many days I am not at my sewing machine. Inspiration came from MSQC and fabrics came from local shops as well as MSQC.

    I liked Jenny's Thanksgiving quilt and I thought it would look great using my leftover fabric from a large quilt I made with Moda's Modern Neutrals, so I downloaded the pattern and got to work on 'Mt. Scrapmore'. I like how it turned out: a modern take on American tradition.

    A Soldier's Journey

    This quilt was made to honor my nephew when he retired from his many years of service. His countless trips overseas, including the Middle East. I transferred to fabric a picture of each of his assignments. I used his now retired uniforms to make the blocks. His patches and buttons to embellish the quilt. It took over a year to finish. It tells his story. I am so proud of him. I presented this to him at his retirement party.

    This project was on hold for a while because the blocks didn't come out as even as they should have, but I decided not to worry about it and just finish it because my husband really wanted a lap quilt that wasn't in my usual "girlie" color combos! He loves it! I used Jenny's tutorial Prairie Flower, but because I was short of red tonal yardage, I used 2" squares for the snowballed corners and I think 1 3/4 inch strips for sashing.

This carpenter start quilt is a queen size that features all of her favorite colors. I liked it so much that I almost kept it for myself, but alas, I took it to moms.
