Splash of Lemon using a modified PopStar

My daughter loves lemons and wanted a "lemon quilt". She selected "Splash of Lemon" by Timeless Treasures and the pattern of PopStar from Missouri Quilt Company with backing from Kanvas-Lemon Fresh. We modified the pattern by adding additional border material around each block. It is my first queen-sized quilt. I know there are a ton of mistakes, but I am learning!

Table Topper

My husband asked me to make a table topper for a small table we purchased at a sale. I had a couple of free charm packs I’d received with a previous fabric order and decided they would fit the bill—and who doesn’t love stars! I lost a few of my points on a couple of the stars : ( but I think it’s a happy-looking little table topper regardless. I quilted it with wavy lines. My husband liked it : )

Winnie the Pooh Quilt

I've had this Pooh fabric for at least 10 years. When my daughter was pregnant with her 1st baby... she thought she wanted a Pooh themed nursery...she changed her mind once she found out she was having a girl. I was asked to make a baby quilt during the lock down and with fabric stores closed...I was forced to go into my stash. I've never been crazy about this fabric but it made a decent quilt.

Roundabout

This was a fabric kit called Roundabout by Jordan Fabrics. All the triangles came pre-cut which made it so easy to piece. I love the appearance of concentric circles. It was really the same block repeated with just a slightly different placement of the dark vs. light corner triangles. Very easy but makes a big impact..

Log Cabin Quilt

I had never made a log cabin quilt before and thoroughly enjoyed the simplicity of it. After reviewing design options, I settled on the fields and furrows layout. I used my favorite quilting method of simple straight lines on my home sewing machine. Although my quilting isn’t fancy, I enjoy the fact that I complete the project myself from start to finish.

Pinwheel

I dipped into my UFO basket and pulled this out. Pieced in awhile ago, I started quilting it right before COVID blew up. Then I switched to masks, and after about 350 masks, was able to get back to quilting this. It's a nice lap, 42 x 52, and will go to the nursing home if we ever get back to normal.

Guild Block of the Month-February

The heart blocks in this quilt were done by members of my quilt guild. It's a teaching guild, so each month we each do a block, then the set of blocks are raffled off. I won the raffle 3 years ago, and finally put the blocks together, and it quilted and bound it today. Its a nice size, 48 x 60. I added the sashing, cornerstones and border to make it bigger.

Hand bound vintage Grandmother's flower garden

I just finished hand binding this lovely grandmothers flower garden pattern quilt. This quilt was hand pieced by a women who planned on hand quilting it. She had it pinned but never got to hand quilt it. She asked my friend to quilt feathers with her longarm. My friend asked me to to hand bind it. My second time hand binding with bias binding. It was hand pieced with 2.25" hexagons. 78" x 95" at the widest points.

This is a quilt I made for my nephew's high school graduation. Blue and white are his school colors and I knew this would be perfect. 12" aquares of alternating windmill and star. The variation of the star allows an optical illusion that mimics a swirl or wind.

Vintage Star

Quick large block design for a retirement quilt for a coworker. Straight line quilting on my domestic machine following the diagonal base lines to make 4 ‘V’ patterns in each quadrant was easy but effective.
