    This quilt started out as a gift for my mother on Mother's Day. The thing about this quilt is I finished everything on it except the binding. The binding literally took me longer than the top and putting it together. I finally gave up and had a professional do it. My mother FINALLY got her quilt for her BIRTHDAY in February!

    After watching Jenny's tutorial a few weeks ago on the I spy quilt and then purchasing the daily deal I realized this quilt would make a perfect gift for the assistant principal at my daughters school who is getting ready to have her second boy. Her oldest is only 5, so I figured this would be something great they can lay the baby on and then play a game at the same time. Plus as they grow older they can both play. This is also the first quilt I have finished start to finish and used a longarm for the first time.

    While doing some "editing" of my stash over the weekend, I came across this layer cake by from the Lost and Found line by Riley Blake. I had forgotten that I even had it! Sadly, this is a recurring theme for me. As soon as I found it I remembered why I had loved it so much and actually recalled the pattern I wanted to use. So before I lost it again I decided to begin a quilt for my daughter who is leaving us in California on August 1 for her new job in Iowa.

Its made from the Little Black Dress collection instead of Downton Abby but, I think it still has the feel of it. I used a pattern Arizona Trail by Pie Plate. I love this quilt. It came together quick and was fun to do.

    Rainbow Dreams "Best Day Ever"

    This quilt is my very first completed quilt. The pattern is called "Rainbow Dreams" by Amy Ellis, but I call it the "Best Day Ever" Quilt named after the beautiful fabric line I used. The fabric is by April Rosenthal for Moda. I saw the picture of this quilt on the front cover of the MSQC Block Magazine and just knew I had to have one of my very own. Being a novice (NEW) quilter, I was so very proud when it finished beautifully and even a friend of mine who is a quilter complimented me on my beautiful piecing and points. I love this quilt SEW MUCH! I know it will always hold a special place in my heart since it is my first.
