Lily Quilt

My hubby purchased this lovely fabric collection, Gypsy Girl by Lily Ashbury, and I created this darling quilt. I love pinwheels! I didn't use a pattern for this project. I just make it up as I went along. Jenny shows a great idea on how to make fast and easy pinwheels. I machine quilted this quilt top on my Bernina 830 sewing machine that sits on a quilt frame.

Purple 9 Patch and Hourglass quilt

I've been making quilts for all of my daughter's best friends. I had one more to make for a friend from college. Her friends favorite color is purple. I found this beautiful Dreamscapes II purple digitaly printed fabric to use. My daughter chose the MSQC 9 patch and hourglass pattern. Lovely longarm quilting by Patti Hutchins. It's approxamately 94" square. This is the first time that I have used a light gray as the background fabric.

Made with Kaffe Classics 10” precuts, yardage from my stash & Jenny’s Totally Tulips pattern. Perfect for my 8 year old Granddaughter’s bed; a “Big Girl” style that she won’t outgrow anytime soon. If you are looking for certain coordinating fabrics/colors (as I was) then splurge on the precuts. They aren’t necessary though; the pattern lends itself to any mix of fabrics you have on hand.

I fell in love with this block the minute I saw the tutorial. I had this layer cake of batiks and decided to cut up some white fabric to go with it and off I went. I am not going to put any borders on it and I decided to quilt it in a meandering pattern with a variegated thread.

Coffee Disappearing Hourglass 2

I made this double sided quilt for a friend's 70th birthday. He has always loved coffee. He is an adopted grandfather to my children. I made him a coffee fabric disappearing hourglass 2 quilt on one side, and a panel with log cabins blocks on the back.
