Beautiful Brassica!

I made this for a work colleague who lost everything in the bushfires. She had completed a number of Kaffe Fasset Brassica tapestries over the years, but now they are all gone. So chose to make the Brassicas the heroes in quilt using squares with sashes, along with the water lily in red donated by my local fabric store.

Blue and White Quilt

I made this for my cousin's mum. She loves the classic blues and whites. She uses this as a table cover, but could have other uses as it of a generous size. For The Love Of Colour

Made this for my older grandaughter who loves colour. She has this draped over the end of her bed. I made this a while ago, but from memory, it was the Lattice Quilt which inspired me, however I used two and half inch strips. Saw a Kaffe Fasset quilt, and decided to use the colours to form a zigzag appearance.

First Quilt

Finally found time to learn the art of quilt top making. Attended a local "Quilt" shop for classes and made a beautiful "Log Cabin" pattern quilt top. That's all it took - I'm hooked. Have since completed 2 more and working on another. Leave the Finish Quilting to a wonderful "Long-arm Quilter" I have met. That is an art I leave to the "expert", she's great.

I made this quilt for my favorite cousin David. We are very close in age and have always been good friends...no special occasion for the quilt..its a "just because" quilt. I used Moda Grudge ...it may be my all time favorite fabric. I FMQ'd it with a very large swirl and loop pattern.

Kewpie Love for Marie Rose

In March 2017, visited the Original Sewing & Quilt Expo in Lakeland, FL. At the Missouri Star booth I came across this darling Kewpie Doll fabric, and the Kewpie Doll itself. Kewpie is a piece of my 1950’s past, so naturally I couldn’t pass it up. This project sat in my stash waiting for the absolute right recipient. It's the perfect baby quilt for the most recent addition to our family, Marie Rose. I used Missouri Star's Flying Geese Log Cabin pattern and quilted it with the April Rose pantograph design.
