I started making baby quilts when many of my colleagues started having babies. At first I would purchase a decorative panel and quilt it by stitching around the designs. Then I began making my own designs. My favorite to make is the tumbling block. It takes some work not to get a bunch where the 3 diamonds meet, but it just such a pretty pattern I don't mind the extra work. Here are some of my baby quilts.

Whimsical Tote/mat and pillow

My grandson, who is four, loves all things bedding-pillows, blankets, comforters, pillow cases. etc. (who'd of guessed that?). He recently started having sleep-overs with his grandparent in IN (I'm in PA) so I made this for him. The bag unzips into a sleep mat and has a matching pillow! He loves it!

Liam and Gabby's Bubble Pillow Rag quilts

I watched Jenny's tutorial on this quilt and showed my daughter. My daughter fell in love with the pillow quilt so I made not one but two. I made one for my grandson Liam and one for my great niece Gabby. They are a month apart, so I figured why not. We chose to use the cozy flannel fabrics instead of Minky (sorry Jenny). They turned out great. Our Little Man loves his and Gabby's mom loves hers.

My purple test subject

This is the first quilt top I finished, but the second completed quilt. I'm not very good at the actual quilting part. On this one I decided, since it was just for me I would test out some of the different stitches on my sewing machine. Not the most elegantly quilted but I still like it.
