Mystery Medallion Quilt Challenge

I participated in the recent NQC Quilt Bock Challenge. I found this quilt pattern really challenging but am happy with the result. This quilt is a large square lap quilt. The top is cotton and the back is flannel. It was quilted by our local long arm quilter.

Christams tree skirt for Wiese Family

Well, this fabric has been sitting a couple years. I made a tree skirt with the printed fabric and another complementing fabric. Stupid me didn't put enough quilting on it, as she had to wash it and it balled up. So this is a replacement for that one.. Shouldn't have any problems with it balling up. I left the blue pounce on the white to show the quilting. The cardinal fabric is on the back, she can flip to which ever side meets her mood at that time.

Summer in the Park

I made this quilt for my daughter. She picked the pattern and material. I cut my own fabric but followed the Summer in the Park tutorial from MSQC. The front is batiks except the white background. The back has flannel on it. It came out really bright and beautiful. She loves it.

A Quilt for GG Janet

Janet has always been there for my daughter and son in law for babysitting my grandkids kids. She is selfless with her time and will be there whenever needed. I made this quilt for her as a thank you for being a special great grandma. At 83 she still gets down on the floor to play. She is an amazing lady. I used Kaffee Clasics fat quarters and a white Minky for the backing. I also used a varigated orange thread for the quilting. the pattern is Double Square Star from Missouri Star.

Valor

Anyone who has been following me knows that I and 2 of my friends are very involved in making quilts of valor. This time, the wife of the veteran, who is in her 70's, has never quilted. My friend Debbie and I took her under our wing. She chose the pattern, the fabrics, and put some of the blocks together and did the border. She really wanted to be a part of the quilt for her husband and she did a wonderful job. I think there will be 4 of us now!

Halloween Zipper Quilt

I made this Halloween quilt for my mom's friend who is battling cancer. Her favorite holiday is Halloween and I hope it will allow her to enjoy her favorite holiday all winter long! I backed it with orange minky so it's really soft and warm. She loves it and is cuddling with it in the hospital. I also made a matching pillow with some of the leftover fabric. I love using my hobby to cheer someone up during a difficult time in their life!

Kid's Cute Quilt

Tall Timber

Saw this quilt kit and knew I wanted it. Love the paper pieced trees and I'm naturally drawn to anything rustic and/or woodsy. Kit was purchased from Missouri Quilt Start Co. and I had the quilting done by Hunters Heirloom Quilt Shop. It turned out very nice.

Patriotic Lap Quilt

I used some leftover blocks and fabrics from quilts of valor I have done this past year, and put together this lap quilt. I quilted it myself. My mom saw it and wanted it for a 95 year old woman veteran at the nursing home she visits frequently. I was honored to give it to her.

Elk Block

Every fall we go to the mountains to hear the Elk bugle. This week I started my Mountain Wildlife quilt blocks. The first block is of an elk. I used fall colors and added a bit of texture. The antlers are made of wool felt. Hopefully the bear claw is next so stay tuned.
