My sister has always had a cat. She loves cats! My sister is now 68 years old. I have never made her a quilt before. So when I thought about creating a quilt just for her, it was easy to come up with an idea of what to creat when I saw the MSQC’ kitty pattern. I just had to make one for her, and I did. She loves it!, Thank You! for all the wonderful patterns you have shared with the world. This pattern was very easy and quick to make. I used a whole stack of 42, 10 inch squares from a fabric line I had purchased from Japan, to make this quilt. My friend Kirsti from “My Quilting Loft” quilted it for me with hearts and yarn balls quilted all over it.

First Double Wedding Ring Quilt III

I did not know the end of this quilt journey would be so emotional. Thank you for all of your sweet comments. I wanted to share the photo my baby brother just posted all the way from Zimbabwe. He travels to Africa about 3 times a year for missions work and this beautiful couple takes care of him while he visits. They have been married almost a year and now they have the quilt in their hands. My heart is full and happy tears keep flowing. I am not an artist, and am fairly new at quilting. My brother and I put ideas together and he counted on me to select prints, colors, and designs. I started adding my own spin on the intertwining flowers and vines. I couldn’t fmq feathers for the quilting design because my brain would not work with my hand motion so I just made up the design as I went along. I was fatigued after an unexpected surgery but had to finish to make a deadline. My husband helped me take photos and fed ex the quilt to Texas so that it could then be put in a suitcase headed overseas. I will never forget this journey and love this couples smile in the photo. I am taking a break. It may be a long break. So thank you everyone on this app for being positive and cheering me on. P

First Double Wedding Ring Quilt II

I really got attached to this quilt and will definitely make another. It will travel over land and sea to another country far away. Finally, the quilt will be delivered in person to a newly married couple by my baby brother. I can’t wait to see a photo of the couple and the quilt.

used two panels as I wanted it larger, quilting windows 1/4” apart diagonally, my husband likes heavy quilting . I think it looks like sun rays . Then quilted stitch in the ditch on window frame. Quilting was done row by row then connected together .

In The Wild

I had a quilt order for a young man. I have made the family 3 quilts already and was determined to do something totally different. I found a panel by Hoffman called "Call of the Wild". Remember the panel youtube video that Jenny did and had the great idea to use the panel with the brick setting. I purchased two layer cakes and off I went. I love the results.

Quilts for Room Divider

These two Batik Quilts separate a bedroom area from a living area in our basement. I used layer cakes and stash, cotton batting, and primium white muslin for a backing so that the bedroom area could be any decor. The are on a rod hung with hooks in the ceiling and chains around the rod. The quilting is done with a walking foot. I just made wavy lines around 1/2 inch apart.

My version

I purchased this beautiful layer cake and couldn’t decide what to do with it. I was scared to use it. I ended up purchasing some yardage that matched wonderfullly. I saw a tutorial on MSQC and Kansas Troubles and liked the look and ended up purchasing a special ruler. This was the result.

My Hapi Quilt

My Hapi Quilt uses a Stacks and Stacks Quilt Block example that I found in a magazine. I wanted to whittle down my growing stash. The idea allows for taking any of your leftover fabrics from other projects, even down to a one or two inch piece. Each block measures 9 1/2 inches by 9 1/2 inches. The center of each block is a half square triangle. I tried to make these with the same fabrics for continuity. The sashes and borders were also from my stash. I was gratified to see it all come together as I stitched the blocks. The quilt fits a twin or full size bed. Upon completion, I noticed that the block and quilt formed an "H", hence the name "Hapi Quilt."
