I bought the Cutie Patootie panel because it reminded me of me. I couldn't work with it for years because it triggered too many uncomfortable feelings. I finally started working on it. I got it done. Then I cut it all apart. Then I put it back together. I added blue ribbons because they are one of the symbols for Child Abuse Prevention Awareness. I actually used fabric with monster eyes because there were definitely monsters. I added the characters from "Inside Out" because I had a lot of conflicting emotions. Something was missing though. I decided that all survivors deserved a medal. I created The Pinwheel Heart Medal of Honor. The Blue Pinwheel because blue pinwheel gardens are "planted" in April for National Child Abuse Prevention month. Honor because shame is such a challenge. I added Thriver because I aspire to be a thriver. I donated the finished quilt to Synergy Services.

Dream Big Wall Hanging

Ladies...I didn't do this. Darn! beyond my skills. One of my good friends is self taught in FMQ and has been doing it for 18 years. She wanted to give it a whirl...She is now addicted to doing these big panels and it has been great for her business as I let her hang it up for a couple of weeks in her shop. This is just beautiful and will hang in one of our guest rooms with the quilt I'm almost done with.

Family Tree Wall hanging or lap quilt

This is a very old printed panel that I picked up somewhere no doubt at a estate sale. I toyed with not doing anything with it for awhile or just using it on the back side of another quilt. Finally after finding some black & white checker material I decided to just finish it and made it a wall hanging. I have some fabric pens if I decide to do the family tree or I may just give it away to some of my older friends who would appreciate this sort of item. Yes if you look at my stuff I did use some of the checker stuff to make cloth pumpkins which are already posted.

Trains

Had a panel of trains so cut them to size and sewed a border in colors to match the most prominent color in each piece. Backed them with stash of my Green Bay Packer material that I still have much of. These are tagged for the church sale held this last weekend. $10. but didn't sell sadly.

A Tropical Place

Update: I won third place in machine applique at the Virginia State Fair. Update: I finished quilting it and picked it up from quilt show. This is "A Far Off Place" Challenge Quilt for my Guild's Quilt show. My husband and I love Hawaii. We were able to visit the beautiful Hawaiian Islands twice. Hibiscus flowers were appliqued on a beach. I used Keepsake Quilting Ombre Stripe Medley Fat Quarter pack for this wall hanging.

This was a panel and I have had it for awhile. I was trying to decide if I wanted to do each writing separate and make a wall photo or do a small quilt for the couch. I finally decided to do wall hanging when I received some nice wooden dowels. The items were off center but I added black to the edges and for the most part the turned out OK. Teal Me If He Loves Me or He Loves Me Not

The Utah State Fair Chooses a theme and sells a fat quarter of a specific fabric to be used in the wall quilt. 2019 Theme was Kiss 'n Teal with teal fabric. I titled my quilt "Kiss 'n Teal me If He Loves Me or He Loves Me Not". For the background I chose to use the "Charm Quilt on Point Tutorial" I made the squares 3" instead of 5" to keep within the size parameters. I won a blue ribbon!

Patriotic Cross

My sister found this pattern and asked if I would make it for her. A couple of firsts for me, my first attempt at paper piecing and my first ever wall hanging. Wish I would have done the star a little differently, but overall I am happy with the way it turned out.
