I have a quilted wall hanging of peacock material, and love the colors, so I made a large quilt to go on my bed that uses some of that same material. I used the Cake Mix Recipies number 1, but rearranged them from the ideas on the package, because the material I used was so busy. I love it!

Purple and hummingbirds

My sister loves purple and hummingbirds. I asked what she wanted and she said 100x100 so it would hang over and they wouldn't have to fight for covers. LOL I used my embroidery module for the hummingbirds and experimented with different blocks for the rest. Being my sister and getting a free quilt, I get to try things and they love it anyway. I love the colors and blocks, but not necessarily all together. But it was for learning, so I think it's okay and it does keep them warm at night!

Scrappy king

I have so many scraps, I decided to do something about them. Ha! I have not even touched the bottom of the barrel. I started out making bento blocks and decided the blocks were not big enough so I switched them around. Now they are big blocks!

60th Anniversary for Parents

One likes blue the other green. This block is called Arizona. I quilted the names of all the current family members on the border during that time, They never used it, mother stored it in her closet, so I brought it back to my house. She can use it when she stays with us.

Fat Quarter Camper Quilt

Found this Fat Quarter bundle and wanted to make these prints into a summer quilt for our camper. I used flannel for the batting and quilted each fat quarter. Then put them together with the sashing, flannel inside each sashing piece, since they are wide. I tried to play with some quilting patterns, thought this would be a great place to do some of those motifs that doesn't really matter if they are perfect or not, just wanted the practice space, this worked out great.

High School Colors Lone Star

I have been collecting oranges to make this top. It's taken awhile, not an easy color to find. I haven't quilted it yet. One of many in a box waiting their turns. I live in a "windy" state, it seems it never stops blowing. Hard to take good pictures of my tops.

Norway quilt

Time for a new quilt for my bed. I added a wide border with red crosses to the Norway quilt pattern. I learned that the bigger the block, the more important the accuracy of the 1/4 inch seam. Used a ruler to do the 1" cross hatch and feathers and dot to dot quilting for the rest.
