The original pattern was blue and white and consisted of 8 “A” blocks and 8 “B” blocks. I didn’t have enough contrast in the layer cake I was using to make 16 blocks, so I ended up with 9 blocks. I added sashing and a border to increase the size. I used 3 “B” blocks and placed them in the middle row and 6 “A” blocks on the top and bottom rows. They also have a tutorial which I referred to as well. I quilted it on my domestic sewing machine using diagonal serpentine lines. I backed it with solid navy fleece. The fleece made it quite a heavy quilt so it was a bit tricky to quilt! I think it’s probably a large twin size. I used mostly Kansas Troubles fabric, some new and some leftover from previous projects. I was surprised at how easy this was to make. I think the colors will make it a nice Christmas quilt. I followed a Missouri Star Quilt pattern and tutorial for this quilt. The only changes I made were to make the sashing burgundy rather than white. I also followed a MSQC tutorial for flange binding and included a picture of the binding. I was happy with how it turned out; it was a quick, pretty way to machine stitch a binding. By Jacqueline 23 LIKES | 1352 VIEWS Cowboy Quit This quilt was made for my grandson’s 1st birthday. I used the Moda Love Quilt pattern again as I used the same pattern for his sister’s first birthday. I thought it would be fun for them to have quilts that were similar. I made a pillow with his initial—J for Jack. By Jacqueline 10 LIKES | 540 VIEWS Another Moda Love Quilt I love this pattern-it’s my go to quilt pattern when I need a quilting gift in a short timeframe! I made a quilt for my daughter using this pattern (it’s posted on the site) and she liked it so much she asked me to make one for two of her friends who are getting married. She picked the fabrics based on their wedding colors. We thought it was especially appropriate for the wedding since it’s called the Love quilt. She requested the same dense, straight line quilting that I did on her quilt. She loves to play with her dolls so I'm sure this will get lots of use! That makes me happy! P.S. It was good practice for matching seams! I made this quilt to welcome him. : ) By Jacqueline 7 LIKES | 1067 VIEWS Quilt and Toddler Apron for Granddaughter I made this quilt for my granddaughter's first birthday. Her name is Ruby and the fabric line is called Little Ruby--perfect! I kept the quilting minimal--just basic outline quilting. The second picture is an apron I made for her from some of the leftover fabric. She likes to help her Mom in the kitchen so I plan to give this to her on her 2nd birthday. She (and her cat) are enjoying it. By Jacqueline 26 LIKES | 1150 VIEWS
