My mom taught me to sew on a 1952 Monarch sewing machine when I was 12. She was self-taught, and I discovered a love of fabrics and sewing. As a young adult I wanted to make quilts, but I didn't know anyone who sewed, there was no internet, and my beginner attempts left me so frustrated that I quit sewing for many years. Through a new friend I met 3 years ago, I became interested again and discovered the many amazing tutorials, websites, pre-cuts, and best of all - spray basting!
