CHECKERBOARD - QUILT AS YOU GO! TOP
We got a phone call from one of our organizations that we support for a money donation. I said, " We have no money but would you like a quilt for a raffle?" They said, "yes."
I had bought 2 quilt kits online after Christmas - Great Prices.
I thought that I could make 2 20 block quilts. After I had all the blocks made it wasn't big enough 44 X 55 inches. Therefore, I was able to combine both kits to make a throw 5 x 7 = 35 block quilt or 55 X 77 inches. The crazy outcome of this quilt was that I ended up making a Fun & Done. My intentions were to make a QUAG without sashing but the back block was big enough to add the sashing to the front. The top pattern is so busy that you do not notice the sashing. What did i learn? 1. Only offer to donate a quilt if it is already made. They have been waiting since beginning of February. 2. I have to be a little more gentle on my finger pressing - to much stretching. 3. The importance of exact pre-cutting. and 4. Working everyday even a little bit on your project makes progress. Thanks for listening - God Bless.
