Just another quack!

I started this star at the Missouri Star forum retreat in 2015. I added the chick to the middle using a Sizzix die and raw edge appliqué. One of the other attendees shared fabric and instructions during our stay. A little quilting makes this a great addition to my sewing room and a symbol of one of my favorite main streets to visit!

We Need Our Space - Handprints

This was a classroom auction project for my children's school. The handprint were made on white cotton oversized layer cake squares and were "crazy" pieced randomly with star print fabrics. The border was pieced with leftover fabrics and the space pictures were appliquéd on the border. The throw is quilted in glow in the dark thread with a space theme.

i Spy - Take 1

I made three i-spy style lap quilts last year. My children selected some fabrics during our summer vacation through Paducah Kentucky in 2014. I also participated in a charm swap with member of the MSQC forum! There are pieces from friends all over the country. I used a 5" tumbler for each quilt and added sashing and special quilting for each. Each child picked their own backing. My children call them "Car" quilts and are glad to have them during our Kansas winter.
