Sun Bonnet Gals
My "Mom" Esther found some Sun Bonnet Sue squares on the internet and purchased them thinking she could make a quilt. When she asked for my input and help, I discovered the squares were not basted or centered in a way that would be helpful to the project. I asked to take them home to see what I could do. I took apart each square, re-centered and appliquéd them onto each square. Then I proceeded to design and construct a quilt around the colors in the Sues and used a "quilt as you go" method to join them together.

Anniversary Waltz
A $5 BOM quilt from my LQS. The center square in a square was my choice, the other fabrics in the block were provided by the store. I also had to provide the corner setting blocks, sashing and border. Crazy fabrics, huh? I would have never thought of putting all these black, brown, silvers together. Somehow it works though. I really enjoyed being with other quilters and seeing their blocks each month. The pattern was intended to be used with Marti Michell's templates but I didn't want to spend the cash for templates I wasn't sure I'd use again. Luckily the instructor felt the same way and provided a conversion sheet of the templates.

Orange Peel Quilt
I made this quilt to fit the king sized bed in our 5th wheel camper. I added a scalloped border around the bottom half and omitted where the bed fits in the slide. Anyone that has tried to shove a comforter down the sides of a bed in a slide out will appreciate this. It has 244 5" squares and took 12 hours to FMQ. I quilted around the orange peels which makes an interesting pattern on the back. Two tutorials from MSQC assisted me in making this quilt. The orange peel and the scalloped edge tutorials. The scallop tool works great. I love this quilt.

New Mommy's Quilt
I met a gentleman who wanted a custom made quilt to give his wife celebrating the pending birth of their first child, a little girl. After many conversations and a meeting or two we came up with this pattern. He wanted some personalization so I added cornerstones with sentiments special to him. To make it extra cozy I put soft flannel on the back, perfect for the cold northeast winter nights. The day I called him to tell him it was finished, he was at the hospital, his daughter having arrived a couple weeks early! A few weeks later he picked up the quilt and surprised his wife and I was thrilled to hear she absolutely loved it.
